Nokia 5310 XpressMusic Cellphone

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

I got a new cellphone…. A Nokia 5310 XpressMusic Cellphone that is. It is very thin, very light, and very awesome. It is so light that I bought a strap to attach to it because I was scared I would fling it out of my hand if I went out walking with it. It supports a 4 GB Micro SDHC card which is just enough to hold my current mp3 collection. I have purchased a 4 GB Micro SDHC card on eBay which hasn’t yet arrived here at home so I don’t have my music on my Nokia 5310 yet. The phone also has a built in radio, which I have not yet figured out how to find. I think that is cool. My other Nokia phone from ages ago also had a radio built in and it was a great feature to have. Anyway I’m not trying to do a review of my new phone in this post. I just wanted to announce that I went out and bought a new phone, and I got a very good deal on it. I had to extend my T-Mobile contract, but I got the phone for $70.00 which isn’t bad since this is a $200 dollar phone. Oh yeah I forgot to mention that this phone will let you use your favorite earbuds or headphones as it uses a regular earbud connector. Very cool!! As of today I’ve only had this phone for five days so I’m still getting used to it, but I think this may become one of my all time favorite mp3 player cellphones… and I have had several. I’ll think about doing a review of my new phone later, after I’ve had more time to play around with it.

Stream Live Video To The Web With Your Cellphone

Saturday, June 7th, 2008

While surfing Gizmodo this morning I discovered two websites that now give you the technology to stream live video from your cellphone to the internet. How cool is this? Check these sites below.

  1. Qik
  2. Comvu

I think this is just totally amazing. I never thought about the possiblity of being able to do this with your phone. I am really amazed by this. Qik is currently best suited for Nokia phones, however they do seem to be working on moving onto Windows Mobile phones as well. Comvu seems to be suited well for windows smartphones at this time, and if I read correctly you are able to record and save your live streams to your phone and then stream them later incase your out somewhere with poor signal reception.
