Monday Muscle Madness Volume 13

Last week I started a new workout routine which I hope will help me get in better shape. So to honor that I decided to post this picture for this weeks Monday Muscle Madness. Hopefully the embarrassment this picture will bestow on me will help to give me a little more motivation to work harder at getting in shape. Yes, I know I don’t look anything like the muscle men I’ve posted pictures of over the last 12 weeks, but I am trying at least.

So yeah, I just started lifting weights last week. I am starting out slow. I don’t want to overdo it too much until I get used to the lifting. I am working out three days a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Currently I’m focusing on four exercises with my 30 pound dumbbell set. Those exercises are bicep curls, tricep lifts, squats, and bent over flys. I think these are ok for starting out since I get a decent arm workout as well as shoulders and legs.

I have also discovered FitTV which is a channel that broadcasts workout shows so occasionally I turn that on and do cardio workouts, but I’m also going to try keeping up with my walking routine except I won’t be going out for those long 8 mile walks three days a week like I was doing earlier this summer. The weather is just too hot for doing things like that right now.

So I guess that is it for this weeks Monday Muscle Madness. I promise I won’t horrify you next week with my fat ass again, but I will make it a point to post another picture of my progress in the future. Maybe I’ll do that in another 13 weeks which will be around the middle of November.

I was just going through one of my favorite groups on flickr and found this picture and realized that I didn’t post my MMM #12 picture last night that I said I was going to post. To me this guy has what I like to call the perfect body. He has muscle definition in all the right places without being overbearing. I would give anything to have a body like this guy. Well I had a pretty good workout with my dumbells yesterday. I am just starting out with my weight lifting and it is going slow. I’m gonna try to work out three times a week for the first few weeks to get myself used to lifting. I haven’t been getting out to take my long walks like I was at the beginning of the summer which is kind of a drag. It’s been so hot lately which is the reason I haven’t been walking so much. I need to make an effort to exercise more.

Monday Muscle Madness Volume 10

It’s that time of the week again. It is week #10 in my Monday Muscle Madness picture post. Each Monday I post a workout inspiration picture and talk about my progress in getting in shape. About the guy in this weeks picture. I don’t know who he is so don’t ask. I found this picture on this blog after searching online for two hours this morning trying to find a good picture to post today. This morning I went back into the spare bedroom and dug out my dumbells and did a short freeweight workout. I did a couple of shoulder press exercises and some dumbell curls to work my biceps, and then I did some crab walks across the floor… which I haven’t done since I went to basic training for the Army in 1990, and then I called it quits! It was a very short workout, but the point is I actually did a workout involving weights. That is something I haven’t done in ages. Could this be the beginning of my actually starting to workout the way I want to and get into better shape? I hope it is.

Well since I just wasted two hours to write this post I think I’m gonna load my bike up on the back of my truck and drive out to the lake and spend the rest of the afternoon riding it through Long Cane Park.

Here is this weeks Monday Muscle Madness photo post. Each Monday I post a picture of guys who are in great shape for workout inspiration. I also write about my own adventures in trying to get in shape to look like the guys who’s pictures I post.

Someday I am going to look like this guy. Ok, yeah…. I know, I’m dreaming right! But it could happen… in a million years LOL. I have been very very lazy over the past couple of weeks so I can’t say anything about my progress on losing weight because I haven’t lost any. I am stuck at the same weight I started out at at the start of the summer. I haven’t gained any weight, but I haven’t lost any either. I just got on the scale and it registered 168. That is up 3 pounds from the last time I weighed myself which was about two weeks ago. That really isn’t a big deal though because my weight always flucuates a few pounds up and down anyway. As long as I don’t go over 170 again then I won’t worry about it. I am actually a little disappointed in myself that I haven’t stayed motivated to at least keep up with my walking. I need to get back into that. It’s been about two weeks now since I got out and took a good long hard walk. I am such a lazy man!

Here is this weeks Monday Muscle Madness photo post. Each Monday I post a picture of guys who are in great shape for workout inspiration. I also write about my own adventures in trying to get in shape to look like the guys who’s pictures I post. This week I am sad to say that I have been a lazy ass. I just haven’t had much motivation to get out and walk those long miles that I was working so hard at. I think I burned myself out on it trying to walk too far on some days. I ended up getting blisters on my big toe and heels of my feet and that made me not care to go out and get the exercise I need. So I’m trying to come up with other activities I can do that can help me lose weight, and two of those activities I am doing is simply going to the basketball court with my basketball to shoot some hoops and I also am taking up hula hooping if you can believe that. Hula hooping is actually good exercise and is fun too, and since I’m not very good at shooting basketball I normally end up running after the ball more than I do anything else haha. Hopefully these new activities will give me the motivation I need to stay active and hopefully I can start losing some weight.

I almost missed MMM this week. Actually I would have just waited until tomorrow if I had missed it today. Anyway, I am late posting today’s Monday Muscle Madness picture and I apologize to those of you who subscribe to my blog, but I had a little emergency business to take care of today. I hope you enjoy the picture I chose to post this week. I know I do :-) . This guy looks awesome!

My fitness program isn’t going so great right now. I have been very lazy over the last few days. I will never lose the weight I’m trying to get rid of if I don’t find some motivation to get the hell up off my ass….. actually it’s not all my fault… I still have sore feet from walking so much last week. Ugh!

This week I have decided to post this picture of Ricky Martin. Ricky Martin makes me mad lol. He always looks so damn good! In this picture, Ricky has the body type that I would like to have and am working to achieve. Slim, cut, tanned, and hot as hell! Go Ricky!

Monday Muscle Madness Volume 4

This is week #4 in Monday Muscle Madness. This is my weekly photo post focusing on healthy, well defined men with muscular bodies. Here is this weeks work out inspiration. A surfer ready to tackle the waves. Surfing must be a really tough sport and quite physically draining to give those guys the lean bodies they get from doing it. I have never surfed before myself but I always wanted to try it out. Unfortunately I don’t live near a beach that has waves worth putting a surf board in the water for, and I don’t swim very well so I would probably be too afraid to try it anyway.

An update to my recent knee injury: My knee has pretty much healed up. It is still a little swollen but not bad. I am walking just as normally as I was before now and I am getting back into my physical activities again. I have started walking routinely again. I am back to walking 6 miles at a time when I walk for weight loss purposes which is what I’m about to go do when I finish writing this post.

I am still wanting to get into some weight training and I have been thinking about getting rid of some furniture in my living room so that I can make room for a weight bench. Well I’m off to go take my walk now. I won’t lose any weight sitting here on my ass!

Monday Muscle Madness Volume 3

Here is this weeks workout inspiration for you and for me. It’s time for me to go walk a few miles now…. since my knee has gotten better. I haven’t gone walking in two weeks now because of my knee injury. I found a cheap workout bench at Sam’s Club I am thinking about getting. It comes with the bench and 100lbs dumbell set. I think it would be a good set for me to start weight lifting with. I would have to clean out my living room though to make room for it which might mean getting rid of some furniture. I wish I lived closer to a gym.

A new reason to love Monday’s. Each Monday I will be posting a picture of a hot muscle guy so be sure to sign up for updates if you don’t want to miss this each week.
